Hungarian Music Industry Startup Awarded International Prize
A Hungarian startup is among the winners of the Hub for the Exchange of Music Innovation (HEMI) incubator program, which supports the most promising music industry innovations.
On October 18, HEMI, an initiative of ten Central and Southeastern European music industry organizations, co-funded by the European Union’s Creative Europe program, announced which innovations have the greatest potential to shape the future of the music industry.
Among the winners, the only Hungarian company recognized was Startion, a startup from Debrecen, for its web application StageRider.
The Story Behind Startion
Startion was founded in 2022 by seven young professionals from Debrecen, including musicians, arts managers, and music-loving software developers. During the pandemic, they developed the foundation of a software suite tailored to the specific needs of the creative and cultural industries.
The Startion platform helps artists and their managers efficiently plan and manage their projects. Through its integrated modules, users can easily handle performances, clients, and various administrative tasks related to their artistic activities.
What is StageRider?
StageRider is the first module of this integrated system. It enables band crews and concert organizers to streamline their communication, saving time, energy, and money when coordinating technical requirements for performances.
Startion applied to the HEMI incubator program for idea-stage startups in 2022 and was selected. With mentorship from Boyan Pinter (SPIKE, Glastonbury, Believe Music), a music industry expert and festival organizer, they developed the first publicly available version of their software.
In 2023, Startion returned to HEMI’s business development program with a functional product prototype. Under the mentorship of András Bodrogi (The state51 Conspiracy), a digital music business expert, they were among the three winning teams from the incubator program.
Recognition and Future Plans
As an award recipient, Startion received professional mentorship, partnership opportunities, and financial support. This makes them the first and only HEMI participant to complete both of HEMI’s programs and finish the incubation process as a winner.

Nemzetközi díjjal jutalmazták a magyar zeneipari startupot
Magyar nyertese is van a legígéretesebb zeneipari innovációk fejlesztésével foglalkozó Hub for the Exchange of Music Innovation (HEMI) zeneipari inkubációs programnak.
Október 18-án került kihirdetésre, hogy a tíz közép és délkelet-európai zeneipari szervezet közös kezdeményezése, az Európai Unió Kreatív Európa programjának társfinanszírozásával létrehozott inkubációs program, a HEMI szerint melyek azok a zeneipari innovációk, melyek a legnagyobb potenciállal rendelkeznek, hogy befolyásolják a zeneipar jövőjét.
A nyertesek között, egyedüli magyarként szerepel a Startion debreceni startup is, a StageRider nevű webalkalmazásával.
A Startion nevű startupot 2022-ben alapította hét debreceni fiatal, köztük zenész, művészeti menedzser és zenerajongó szoftverfejlesztő, miután a pandémia alatt kidolgozták illetve lefejlesztették az alapjait egy, a kreatív- és kulturális ipar speciális igényeire fejlesztett szoftvercsaládnak. A Startion platformjának lényege, hogy a művészek és menedzsereik hatékonyabban tudják tervezni és irányítani projektjeiket, a szoftvercsalád integrált moduljain keresztül könnyedén kezelhetik fellépéseiket, ügyfeleiket és művészeti tevékenységükhöz kapcsoló egyéb teendőiket.
A Startion StageRider ennek az integrált rendszernek az első modulja, melynek használatával a zenekarok stábja és a koncert szervezői időt, energiát és pénzt spórolva tudnak egyeztetni többek között a fellépéshez szükséges technikai eszközökről.
A debreceni csapat 2022-ben jelentkezett a HEMI ötletgazdákat megcélzó programjára, melybe be is válogatták őket. Boyan Pinter (SPIKE, Glastonbury, Believe Music) zeneipari szakember és fesztiválszervező mentorációja alatt készültek el a szoftver első nyilvánosan elérhető verziójával. 2023-ban immár kész termék-prototípussal jelentkeztek a HEMI innovatív vállalkozások fejlesztését szolgáló programjába, melyben Bodrogi András (The state51 Conspiracy) új média szakember és digitális-zeneüzlet szakértő mentorálása alatt most az inkubációs csoportból kettő másik csapat mellett díjazottak lettek.
A díjjal szakmai mentorációt és együttműködést, valamint pénzjutalmat is nyert a csapat. Ezzel a Startion az első és egyetlen HEMI résztvevő, aki a HEMI mindkét programját teljesítette és emellett díjazottként zárják az inkubációs programot.
„Az a megtiszteltetés ért bennünket, hogy a Startion StageRider-t a HEMI s legígéretesebb zeneipari innovációk egyikének tartja. A HEMI kivételes inkubációs platform az európai zeneiparban, kiemelkedő mentorhálózattal és tapasztalt zeneipari szakemberekkel, akiktől eddig is számtalan segítséget kaptunk és nekik köszönhetően rengeteget fejlődtünk. Célunk, hogy a digitalizáció eszközeivel segítsünk a művészeknek a siker felé vezető úton és nagyon nagy öröm számunkra, hogy ebben a HEMI partnerségét és támogatását élvezhetjük. Izgatottan várjuk a következő lépéseket.” – mondta B. Farkas Gergő, a Startion társalapítója és vezérigazgatója.
A hazai könnyűzenei szcénában is elő-előfordulnak esetek, amelyek igazolják a StageRider létjogosultságát, például Majka tavaly nyáron még kénytelen volt lemondania fehérgyarmati koncertjét, mivel nem felelt meg az elvárásoknak a rendezvény technikai háttere. Reméljük, hogy a StageRider használatával az előadók megelőzhetik a bajt, hiszen a fejlesztés pontosan azt a célt szolgálja, hogy a helyszínen már azelőtt pontosan felkészülhessenek egy-egy előadó egyedi technikai igényeire, hogy megérkeznének.
